🇹🇫️ EUROPAM 2024

The EUROPAM project, which takes place on Europa Island in partnership with agents of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, aims to study fish assemblages of the local coral reef via passive acoustic monitoring.

We placed an hydrophone on the external slope of the coral reef, to the north of Europa Island, in a location representative of the remainder of the reef but preseved from waves and with a gentle slope. The system recorded every other day for 6 months, allowing a global view of the soundscape.

Beyond identification and analysis of species of interest, data recorded at the same location in 2018 during the CORCOPA project allowed us to witness the evolution of the health and the interactions within the local ecosystem 6 years later.
